David Leo Rice is the author of the novels Angel House, The New House, the Dodge City trilogy, and The Berlin Wall, as well as the collections Drifter and The Squimbop Condition (forthcoming), and co-editor of Children of the New Flesh, an anthology exploring the early work of David Cronenberg. Leanne Grabel
Brontosaurus Illustrated
Leanne Grabel is a writer, illustrator, teacher and performer in love with mixing genres. She has written and produced numerous multimedia shows, including The Lighter Side of Chronic Depression and Anger: The Musical. Grabel’s graphic novel, Brontosaurus Illustrated, was published by The Opiate Books in 2022. Her book of graphic prose poems, My Husband’s Eyebrows, is forthcoming from The Poetry Box. Grabel is the 2020 recipient of the Bread & Roses Award for contributions to women’s literature in the Pacific Northwest.

Penny Allen
This Rescue Thing
Penny Allen, born in Portland, Oregon, discovered theater and created several shows in English and French before turning to cinema, where, still in Portland, she wrote, directed and produced two features, Property and Paydirt. She then lived in Central Oregon for nine years before moving to Paris, where she first worked on environmental issues and published two books, one on the environment, Metaphors for Change, the other a memoir, A Geography of Saints. She then returned to cinema with The Soldier’s Tale, Late for My Mother’s Funeral (in French and Arabic), and The Didier Connection. She has lived in France for thirty years and is working on a new movie.

Victor Marrero
Atlas, Bound
Victor Marrero worked for many years in public service. He has also served as a
trustee of several educational, charitable and public interest organizations, among them the New York Public Library, the American Museum of Natural History, Cooper Union for the Advancement
of Science and Art and the State University of New York. He graduated from New York University and Yale Law School and studied as a Fulbright Scholar in England. His first book of poems, titled Atlas, Bound, was published by Opiate Books. A substantial number of the poems in that collection were previously published in The Opiate magazine. He lives in Manhattan.

Rufo Quintavalle
I Love Paris
Rufo Quintavalle is a poet and an actor. His previous collections include Shelf, Weather Derivatives, hhereenow and Dog, cock, ape and viper. He is the lead actor in the experimental web series, Coldhearts: a poetical, and you can also see him in Mikhaël Hers’ film, Les passagers de la nuit, which was in competition at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival.

Anton Bonnici
Yet So As By Fire and Quasar Love
Anton Bonnici is a playwright based in Paris. His productions via the Of Potters’ Demons Text, Performance and Image Lab include Quasar Blues (Writer and Director, Winner of the Montmartre Dionysia Showcase, Paris Fringe 2016), Some Stupid Bitch Killed Ana Peaceful (Writer and Producer, Paris 2017), Criminals! (Director and Co-Producer, Camden Fringe 2018, Paris Fringe 2018) and Listen, I’m Dying (Writer, Director and Producer, Moscow 2018, Paris 2018).

Genna Rivieccio
Lindsay Lohan Stole My Life: A Tate Carmichael Novel
Genna Rivieccio is the editor-in-chief of The Opiate, a literary quarterly specializing in fiction and poetry. She is also the author of Corona(tion) Year, Vols. 1 and 2 (2021) and Lindsay Lohan Stole My Life: A Tate Carmichael Novel (2023). Her work, in fiction and essay form, has appeared in/on From Nowhere to Somewhere: The End of the American Dream, Wrongdoing, Sensitive Skin, PopMatters and, most frequently, Culled Culture.

Donna Dallas
Megalodon
Donna Dallas’ style is unmatched in its rawness and ability to go straight for the jugular on what it wants to say. Her work has appeared in a plethora of journals, including The Opiate, Beatnik Cowboy, Tribes, Horror Sleaze Trash and Fevers of the Mind. She is the author of Death Sisters, her legacy novel, published by Alien Buddha Press. Her first chapbook, Smoke and Mirrors, launched in 2022 with New York Quarterly. Donna serves on the editorial team of NYQ.
